Reader Tip #5 – Antiperspirant

by Howard on September 30, 2010

I have sweating issues in different areas of my body that are not just limited to my underarms. I also have a problem with sweaty hands and feet – which I’ve come to know as hyperhidrosis.

I’ve done tons of research regarding different procedures and ways to approach it, and so far haven’t found too much info that’s helped. As far as my underarms, after struggling with embarrassing stains on my shirt for years (and I’m a teenage girl, which doesn’t help self confidence at all, especially since I’m a dancer)

I tried out two different products: Secret Clinical Strength, and CertainDri.

The Secret deodorant didn’t help at all. In fact, it clogged up my sweat glands and caused pain and swelling in my underarms.

The CertainDri antiperspirant on the other hand has helped SO much. I followed the directions and it worked out so well. It stung a bit the first few times, or if I ever did it after shaving, but ultimately helped out my problem a lot. I only use it every so often now because my underarm sweat has reduced. I also use Ban deodorant / antiperspirant which I think also helps out as well.

I was suffering with excessive sweating for a long time and recently started using 1-2Dry. Believe me when I tell you I never really had luck with a deodorant- they are really just geared to odor. The pads I use absorb the sweat and it lasts all day – I sometimes just change the pads twice a day just because I am really OCD about preventing any stains. I found an option and hope others do too!
